06
Calibrated measurement with a device identity
A sensor product where the value lived in the measurement itself: calibrated, timestamped, and available to both an on-site system and a remote platform.
Hardware / Embedded / IoT / AI / Cloud
Challenge
Move a sensing idea from a lab bench into a device architecture that could be manufactured, identified, and believed — including calibration and the software that consumes the signal.
Engineering problem
Smart sensors are not “IoT modules with a pretty enclosure.” Drift, sampling integrity, clock discipline, edge filtering, and a cloud model that does not launder bad measurements into confident charts.
Architecture
- 01
Sensing electronics and analog integrity as the centre of the design
- 02
Firmware for sampling, filtering, self-test and calibration records
- 03
Local interfaces (wired/serial/industrial) alongside optional wireless
- 04
Device identity and calibration certificates as data, not stickers only
- 05
Cloud or on-prem collection with unit-aware storage
- 06
Optional on-device or edge inference when the signal requires it

Process
Prototype the measurement before the housing. Architect identity and calibration into the firmware. Validate against known references. Industrialize with a programming and calibration station in mind.
Outcome type
A sensor-system architecture in which electronics, firmware and data contracts are one design. Representative of Avarix’s measurement-and-edge work.
