On-device software

Firmware is a product. We write it like one.

The code that runs on the device decides battery life, safety behaviour, update reality, and whether a cloud platform has anything honest to say. Avarix builds embedded software as an engineered layer: bring-up, drivers, RTOS or bare-metal structure, communications, diagnostics, and the unglamorous state machines that make hardware feel inevitable.

When to engage

  • A board exists (or will) and the software on it is the actual product risk.
  • You need deterministic behaviour, not an Arduino sketch that grew up.
  • OTA, provisioning or long-life maintenance is in scope.
  • Cloud and mobile teams are blocked on a device contract that does not exist yet.

Disciplines in play

  • Bare-metal / RTOS
  • Drivers
  • Power management
  • Wireless stacks
  • Bootloaders / update
  • Device security basics
  • Diagnostics
  • Hardware bring-up

Typical outputs

  • — Firmware architecture and coding standards in use
  • — Bring-up and driver layers
  • — Protocol implementations and device APIs
  • — Update and provisioning flows
  • — Test hooks and field diagnostics

What we do

Embedded Systems & Firmware

  1. 01

    Bring-up and board support

Clocks, peripherals, boot, and the first honest log from a new board. Hardware and firmware debug as one activity.

  2. 02

    Device software architecture

Tasking, memory, power states, watchdog strategy, and interfaces that applications and cloud can depend on.

  3. 03

    Connectivity on the device

BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE, serial and industrial protocols implemented as behaviour, not as a vendor demo retained forever.

  4. 04

    Update, diagnostics, identity

How the device is provisioned, how it fails, how it is recovered, how it tells you the truth months after shipping.
